MC Customers’ Wheelchair Van Stolen on Christmas Eve

Lawrence and Linda Swartz’s holiday weekend began much like anyone else’s. At around 7:00 pm Christmas Eve, they parked their 2001 Dodge Caravan wheelchair van at the Gemini Recreation Center and walked across the street to Journey Community Church on Lorain Road in Fairview Park, OH for the Christmas Eve service.

When they came back out after the service was over, their van was gone, along with some Christmas presents and a camera inside.

Lawrence and Linda both use power wheelchairs. So the thief, didn’t just steal a van. He or she stole the Swartz’s freedom.

While the police are investigating the surveillance tapes at the rec center, M.C. Mobility Systems is providing the Swartz’s with a wheelchair accessible rental van, until a permanent solution can be found for the couple.

If you are in the Ohio area and see a van matching the following description or resembling the photographs below, please contact the authorities immediately:

  • 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport
  • Steel Blue/Gray Ohio License Plate ETU5012
  • M.C. Mobility Systems stickers and license plate cover
  • Fold Out Ramp
