Dayton Wheelchair Van Dealership Receives Customer Service Award

In the last two days, the staff at the M.C. Mobility Systems Dayton store have been swimming in yummy treats. Yesterday, a customer came in bearing cupcakes when she came to check on a portable ramp for her 2003 Chrysler minivan.  This morning another customer bringing his wheelchair van in for repairs presented the Dayton crew with donuts.  When your customers are so happy to see you that THEY bring YOU goodies, you know you’re doing something right.

So it came as no surprise to the Dayton store’s customers when they found out that the wheelchair van dealer had received the BraunAbility Ralph Braun Signature Customer 1st Award this year for outstanding customer service.

We bought our van last year and think the van is great! And the service all the way was also great! No surprise to hear about the award, well deserved,” said Dave Anderson on M.C. Mobility Systems Facebook page.

The Customer 1st Award from wheelchair van manufacturer BraunAbility, also affectionately known as a “Ralphie”, is given to dealers with the highest customer satisfaction based on survey results from 2011.

“The Dayton store is different from a lot of other mobility dealers in the area, because we make sure our staff have the tools and training necessary to provide the best possible service,” says Nelson King, M.C. Mobility Systems Dayton Store manager. “Customer satisfaction means satisfying a customer’s needs promptly, efficiently, and at a fair price.”

Mobility dealerships sell wheelchair accessible vans and other mobility products such as hand controls and transfer seats, which enable people with disabilities to travel easily and safely.  This equipment can even allow wheelchair users to drive from their wheelchair or mobility devices.  Providing this equipment is an important job and often requires that sales and service staff set aside the bottom line, in order to get people the personalized equipment that will work for them.

“The most important thing that dealers can do to provide the best customer service is listen, evaluate, and draw on our experiences to provide a solution that fits the customer’s needs,” says King.

Of course it’s easy to provide excellent customer service when you truly love what you are doing and care about the people you are doing it for.

“I love this job, because we’re providing independence and sometimes life-changing services to our clientèle,” says King, and continues with a sheepish grin, “and we know that because we get hugs and kisses and cookies and lots of cool stuff.”

M.C. Mobility Systems Dayton location is one of four M.C.
