Local Nine-Year-Old Collects Socks For Battered Women In Greater Cleveland
Mentor, OH – MC Mobility Systems is helping nine-year-old Nadia Cruz from Painesville, Ohio, collect socks for victimized women at Cleveland’s MetroHealth Medical Center.
Nadia and her mother will pick up MC Mobility Systems’ sock donations on Monday, April 6, at 3 p.m. They will deliver the socks to MetroHealth on Thursday, April 9.
Nadia created her organization, “Nadia’s Soft Smiles,” to collect socks for victimized women who are taken to the hospital and in need of new clothes. A garment often overlooked, socks are in short supply.
Nadia’s Soft Smiles has raised over 1,000 pairs of socks, and her GoFundMe page has raised over $1,000 in donations.
“I discovered Nadia’s Soft Smiles on Facebook during Women’s History Month in March,” MC Mobility Systems’ Outside Marketing Representative, Stacy Gay, said. “She is such an inspiration and we wanted to do something to help.”
MC Mobility Systems organized a drop-off bin for Nadia’s Soft Smiles at its store in Mentor, and has since been helping Nadia to collect socks and fulfill her mission.
MC Mobility Systems provides mobility solutions to people with disabilities throughout the state of Ohio. In addition to its headquarters in Mentor, MC has three locations in Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati.
