Can other people still use the stairs?

Yes. Bruno stair lifts are designed to leave enough room for others to comfortably and safely travel up and down the stairs. In addition, chair lifts feature flip up arms and seats to give even more room for others when not in use.

How do you get off the chair lift at the top of the stairs?

For those who are concerned that their loved one will have to step into the stairs to get on and off their chair lift, this is fortunately not the case. Bruno stair lifts feature a seat swivel which allows the rider to easily turn the seat at the top so that they can get off safely on the landing. In addition, custom curved stair lifts have the capability to have an additional bend at the top to finish on the landing or hallway.

How long will installation take?

This will vary depending on the type of stairs being fitted with the stair lift. Most straight stair lifts can be installed quicker while custom curve stair lift installation will take more time. Please contact your nearest M.C. Mobility Systems to schedule an in home-inspection for installation details specific to your space.

Can a stair lift be transferred from one home to another?

In some cases, a stair lift can be transferred from one staircase to another. Curved stair lifts are custom built so oftentimes these are not transferable. However, if the existing stair lift is a straight rail and the new staircase is the same length or shorter, the rails can be cut to fit the new space.
